Cake: “The Distance”

Another one of my special gems on my collection of videos I recorded off of MTV. This is one of the first bands I remember hearing and wanting to know everything there was to know about where the hell they came from. I wish we had wikipedia back then.

Their sound was unlike anything I had heard, and I still think the guitar player had one of the better sounds in the 90’s. God bless Cake for they continued to write good songs throughout their career, even as their popularity waned. I still put this album on during summer drives.
