PRE-DURST

Fuck you, nu-metal. Fuck you, "modern rock." We're taking it back to when A&R agents got paid to watch David Yow knot up his weiner and I didn't know what a titty felt like.

Space: “Female of the Species”

(Pt. 1 in my “Black and White Videos of the 90’s” Day)

This is really a unique jam, a mish-mash of sounds. Blending the sounds of the 60’s, 70’s, a dash of the 80’s, and 90’s for sure. You don’t usually hear vibes mixed with record scratches and a theramin. But it just works, and everytime I hear the melody and instrumentation of the chorus, I just appreciate pop music more.

Not bad for a squirrely George Harrison knock-off in an oversized sweatshirt. Didn’t bands in the 90’s have stylists? Jesus. I do miss the mini retro-sound revival that came out of England in 90’s, though. (I’m looking at you, Spacehog). It just felt right.
