Fastball: “The Way”

The first two and a half minutes of this song drip of sugary sweet pop so formulaic I swear to effing God that this song was on the soundtrack to “That Thing You Do.”

But then that guitar solo makes everything better… twice. That still makes me wish I was a lead guitarist in a band.

As cheesy as this song is, I can’t fault Fastball too much. They added just enough spice to keep the music interesting on a level just above Smash Mouth and Hanson.
